Information processed in the app
Fox Insights processes data that you choose to provide or generate inside the app. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Instagram Data Export ZIP files that you select, including follower and following lists contained in those files.
- Imported profile usernames, display names, profile links, profile images if present in the export, and detected follower/following changes.
- Instagram session cookies and user identifiers if you choose to log in for live features. These credentials are stored in the operating system keychain.
- Story, profile, follower, following, admirer, and blocked/deleted-account signals generated from your scans.
- Support messages you send from the Contact developer screen, including the message content, app source screen, and time sent.
- Purchase and entitlement status for Fox Insights Pro, handled through Apple and RevenueCat when store subscriptions are configured.
Local-first storage
Imported ZIP files are parsed on this device. Snapshots, detected changes, watched profiles, and generated reports are stored locally in the app database unless you choose to export or share them. Fox Insights does not sell personal data and does not use advertising trackers.
Network features
Some features require network access. The app may contact Instagram when you use live scanning, story tools, admirer ranking, blocked or deleted-account checks, or external profile tracking. The app may contact Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions and may contact the developer support endpoint when you send a support message.
Purpose and legal basis
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, processing is performed to provide the app features you request, to maintain app security, to respond to support messages, to manage subscriptions, and to meet legal obligations. The legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and improving the app, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing and third parties
Fox Insights does not sell your data. Data may be processed by service providers only where needed to provide app functionality:
- Apple processes App Store downloads, in-app purchases, refunds, and subscription management.
- RevenueCat may process purchase identifiers, entitlement status, and subscription metadata if subscriptions are enabled.
- The developer support endpoint and email provider process support messages that you submit.
- Instagram receives normal network requests when you use Instagram-connected features.
Retention and deletion
Local snapshots, detected changes, watched profiles, story signals, and reports remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or clear them from Settings. You can delete local data from Settings. Support messages and purchase records may be retained as needed for support, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal reasons.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, including in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because most app data is stored only on your device, many requests can be completed directly in Settings by deleting local data.
Children
Fox Insights is not intended for children. Do not use the app if you are under the minimum age required by the laws of your country or by the relevant platform rules.
International transfers
If you send support messages or use subscription services, your information may be processed in countries outside your own country. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used by the relevant service providers.
Changes
This policy may be updated when app features, legal requirements, or service providers change. The updated version will be shown in the app and, where required for App Store distribution, on a public web page.
